Jason Dale Clairmont, 22, of Burdine Street, Bossier City, La., formerly of 19 Indian St. Pittsfield, died Friday at home after a gun he was cleaning accidentally discharged.
Born in Pittsfield on June 29, 1979, son of David L. Clairmont and the late Sharron L. Clairmont, he attended schools in Pittsfield. He moved to Bossier City a year ago.
While in Pittsfield, Mr. Clairmont was employed as a salesman for Rex at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesboro for two years.
A handyman, he enjoyed fishing.
Besides his father, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., he leaves a daughter, Ciana Jade Clairmont of Pittsfield; two sisters, Christine L. Clairmont of Pittsfield and Rebecca R. Carmel of Dalton; his paternal grandmother, Rena E. Clairmont of Pittsfield, and his longtime companion, Sarah M. Demary of Pittsfield. His mother died Jan. 25, 2001. His grandfather, Leo A. Clairmont, died Oct. 12, 1999.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to establish an education fund for his daughter, Ciana Jade Clairmont.
