Marjory Kirk

Marjory Colt Kirk, 72, of Gulf Shores, Ala., formerly of Dalton and Pittsfield, died Dec. 28 at the Mobile Infirmatory near Gulf Shores.
Born in Pittsfield on July 12, 1929, daughter of Zenas Crane Colt and Cynthia Means Colt, she attended private schools, including Foxhollow, Miss Hall's and the Masters School. She also attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
She married Gilbert J. Kirk Jr. on June 10, 1949. He died Oct. 12, 1961.
After her husband's death, she relocated from San Diego to Philadelphia, where she held marketing positions with Gray and Rogers Advertising and Public Relations and radio station WCAU.
After leaving Mobile in 1976, she worked for New England Mutual Life Insurance, first in the company's Philadelphia field office and later in the Boston corporate headquarters.
She leaves three sons, Lewis C. Kirk of Chicago, David E. Kirk of Houston, and Gilbert J. Kirk III of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Cynthia E. Kirk of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Joanne McGowan of Edenton, N.C., and Frances Schneidau of Darien, Conn.; two brothers, Zenas M.C. Colt of Wakefield, R.I., and William W. Colt of Monroe, N.C., and six granddaughters.
