Edward Fredrick White Sr., 57, of 5241 Vatican Ave., Orlando, Fla., a native of Pittsfield, died of cancer Tuesday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 28, 1944, son of Warren and Barbara Jacques White, he attended local schools.
He was in the Navy from 1963 to 1965.
He was first employed by Schweitzer and the former Hurlbut paper mills and was last employed by Carr Hardware in both Pittsfield and North Adams. He moved to Florida in 1982.
Mr. White was a member of the Palmetto Baptist Church in Sanford, Fla.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Pettibone, whom he married May 11, 1963; two daughters, Barbara A. Brown of Clearwater, Fla., and Sharon L. White of Orlando; three sons, Edward F. White Jr. of Orlando, Michael J. White and Stephen G. White, both of Pittsfield; three brothers, Robert L. White of Fort Wainwright, Alaska, John J. White of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Warren W. White Jr. of Sanford, Fla.; four sisters, Mary C. Jones of Union Springs, N.Y., Darleen D. Tooley and Barbara M. Nichols, both of Pittsfield, and Fanny B. Critelli of Orlando; and 13 grandchildren.
