RICHMOND, Mass. — John A. Stengle, 73, of Richmond passed away peacefully on April 18, 2020.

John was born in Cambridge, Mass., to the late Charles A. and Dorothy Scheid Stengle. He attended Arlington High School in Arlington, Mass., was a graduate of Lawrence Academy, Groton, Mass., in 1965 and he attended Nichols College, Dudley, Mass., from 1965 to 1968. In 1970, he joined National Gypsum Company as a salesman in Pittsfield, Mass. He resigned in 1972 to start his own business, Berkshire Drywall Company in Richmond, Mass.

Mr. Stengle was a past member of the Stockbridge Sportsman Club, Stockbridge Golf Club and Trout Unlimited. He was an avid hunter and golfer.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanna H. Stengle; and his brother, Robert E. Stengle. 

Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his brother, Charles E. Stengle.
