Patricia A. Fields, 61, of 31 Bossidy Drive died Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on March 24, 1940, daughter of Frank Carnute Sr. and Mary Calabrese Carnute, she attended local schools, including Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Fields was employed as a sales clerk in the salad and produce department at Stop & Shop for 13 years, retiring in 1998 because of ill health. Prior to that, she worked with her husband, Leonard J. Fields Sr., in his business, the former Discount Transmissions on Tyler Street.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and was a fan of Elvis Presley and his music.
Her husband, whom she married May 4, 1974, died in July 1987.
She leaves four sons, Marc A. Procopio of Lee, and Mario F. Procopio Sr., Paul J. Procopio Sr. and Leonard J. Fields Jr., all of Pittsfield; a daughter, Karla A. Procopio of Lanesboro; two brothers, Michael Carnute and Frank Carnute Jr., both of Pittsfield; three sisters, Frances Carnute of Pittsfield, Jenny Carnute of Farmington, Conn., and Caroline Carnute of Bristol, Conn., and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Pasquale and John Carnute, and Adelaide Rattigan.
Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
