Marie C. LeBlanc

Marie Catherine "Bella" LeBlanc, 97, of 95 Lakeway Drive and Cap Pele, New Brunswick, died Friday at her home in Pittsfield.

Born in New Brunswick on Aug. 6, 1904, daughter of Jeffrey and Christine Cormier Vienneau, she attended schools there.

A homemaker, at one time she had been employed by GE and the A.H. Rice Silk Mill. She had wintered in Florida and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Mrs. LeBlanc was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was a former member and treasurer of the Franco-American Club Auxiliary.

Her husband, Leonard LeBlanc, whom she married June 27, 1923, at Notre Dame Church, died Feb. 4, 1985.

She leaves four sons, J. Leonard LeBlanc of Cap Pele, Paul L. LeBlanc of Dalton, Robert R. LeBlanc of Pittsfield and Warren Vienneau, a nephew whom she raised and had considered a son; three daughters, Rosemary D'Alessandro and Marilyn Harte, both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and C. Anne McConnell of Pittsfield, with whom she had resided; a sister, Delia Conway of Pittsfield; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 9:45 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Notre Dame Church, celebrated by the Rev. Earl Hebert, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Notre Dame Church or to HospiceCare of the Berkshires, both in care of the funeral home.
