Emily M. Kulis, 82, of 119 Memorial Drive died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 19, 1919, daughter of Joseph and Concetta Talarico Canino, she attended local schools.
She was first employed by the former Elmvale Worsted Co. for several years and was last employed by the former Big N department store on West Housatonic Street, retiring in 1972.
Mrs. Kulis was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. She enjoyed reading and animals.
She leaves her husband, Nathan E. Kulis, whom she married June 20, 1942, at Mount Carmel Church; two sons, Peter J. Kulis of Ormond Beach, Fla., and John A. Kulis of Pittsfield; two daughters, Frances C. Pelletier of Dalton and Linda M. Stewart of Pittsfield; two sisters, Josephine Rocca and Helen Mangiardi, both of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
