Barbara R. Jones, 66, of 53 Third St. died yesterday at home.
Born in Great Barrington on July 17, 1935, daughter of Alton F. and Georgia Stevens Bennett, she attended Averill Park (N.Y.) High School.
Mrs. Jones was employed as a ceramics instructor at the former Pat's Ceramics and as a teachers' aide with the Head Start program. She also was a dietary aide at Willowood nursing home in Williamstown from 1986 to 1987 and a deli clerk at Stop & Shop from 1987 to 1990.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade Committee. She enjoyed making crafts, doing crossword puzzles and dancing.
She and her husband, Raymond Jones, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary Nov. 11.
Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Alton Jones of Spring Valley, Calif., Christopher Jones of Phoenix, Paul Jones of Pittsfield and Robert Jones of Cheshire; three daughters, Bonnie Jones of Cheshire, and Michelle Jones and Jacqueline Stevens, both of Pittsfield; two brothers, Charles Bennett of Falsen, Calif., and James Bennett of El Cajon, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. David DeSmith, interim rector, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cemetery of the Maples in East Chatham, N.Y. Calling hours at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. Among survivors are numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Shriners' hospitals, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
