Ida R. Bedell, 89, of 89 South St., Berkshire Place, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 20, 1912, daughter of Raymond and Florence Rico Suarez, she attended Brooklyn schools.
Primarily a homemaker, she worked in New York City prior to her marriage.
She was active on the Residents' Council and at various social activities at Berkshire Place. She enjoyed vacations on Nantucket, gardening and reading.
Her husband, Weldon Bedell, whom she married Oct. 4, 1931, died Dec. 17, 1994.
She leaves two sons, Richard T. Bedell of New Hartford, Conn., and Joel T. Bedell of Merrimack, N.H.; three daughters, Barbara D. Lee of Mount Prospect, Ill., Jeanne E. Allan of Lenox and Ruth L. Moon of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Her grandson, U.S.A.F. Airman First Class David A. Moon, died Oct. 18, 1994.
Calling hours will be held Friday morning, beginning at 9 a.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a private service of remembrance at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Berkshire Place or to the Friends of Renal Dialysis Foundations in care of the funeral home.
