RICHMOND, Mass. — Gerald Melvin Dubois, 91, of Richmond, Mass., and formerly of Williamstown, Mass., died Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in Williamstown on March 15, 1927, a son of the late Ernest and Almeda Mae (Miller) Dubois. Gerald graduated from the former Williamstown High School in 1947 and the Albany Business College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed for many years in the time study department at Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. He also worked part time at the North Adams and Pittsfield YMCA an aquatic and gymnastics instructor for several years.
Gerald was a communicant of St's Patrick and Raphael Parish in Williamstown and a member of the Williamstown American Legion and Sprague Electric Management Club. He enjoyed cross country skiing, hiking, swimming and hunting.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Helen Horsman and Ernest C. Dubois.
Funeral notice: Funeral services will take Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel located on the campus of Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Mass. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. At his request there will be no calling hours.
