Sylvia Fay Flink, 74, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Pittsfield, died Nov. 12 at La Rosa Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing in Tucson.
Born in Pittsfield on June 10, 1927, daughter of Richard and Irene Brown Agar, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1945 and from the School of Nursing at Syracuse University in 1948.
Mrs. Flink retired as acting director of the Tri-County Emergency Medical Services Council in 1985.
She was known for her volunteer work and activities, including the Girl Scouts, Red Cross, Lansing (Mich.) Safety Council, Methodist church organizations, St. Lawrence Hospital Auxiliary Emergency Medical Services, and the Grand Ledge Area Ambulance Service. She was an active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Roscommon, Mich., and of St. Mark's Methodist Church in Tucson, and a past member of Central United Methodist Church in Lansing and First United Methodist Church in Mesa, Ariz.
Her husband, Paul R. Flink, whom she married Jan. 31, 1949, is deceased.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara Flink Eva of Roscommon; a son, Donald P. Flink of Tucson; a brother, James R. Agar of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 15, 2001, at 11 at SIMPSON-STEBBINS FUNERAL HOME, Stanton, Mich., with interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff of La Rosa Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, and the staff of Casa de la Luz Hospice.
