Doris M. Herlihy Meloveck, 78, of Pomeroy Manor died yesterday afternoon at Craneville Place of Dalton.
Born in Richmond, Va., on Jan. 23, 1923, daughter of William and Lillian Alderman Flynn, she moved to Pittsfield at a young age and was educated in Pittsfield schools.
In her younger years, she was employed by Crane & Co. for several years in the stationery department and by the former Pittsfield General Hospital as a cafeteria worker for six years. She was last employed by the former Adams Super Markets in the produce department for eight years, retiring in 1975.
A communicant of St. Agnes' Church, she enjoyed reading, walking and listening to music.
Her first husband, John Herl-ihy, whom she married in 1945, died in 1964.
Her husband, Peter Meloveck, whom she married in 1972, died Dec. 3, 1983.
She leaves a daughter, Sandra A. Cobb of Dalton, and two grandchildren.
Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agnes' Church celebrated by the Rev. John A. Koonz, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
