Gail F. Viera, 66

DALTON, Mass. — Gail Frances Viera, 66, of 125 Dalton Division Road, Dalton, passed away March 17, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center.



She was born on October 28, 1951, to Lois H. Keefe Goddeau and the late James F. "Tex" Goddeau. Gail was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She married Anthony John Viera on August 11, 1990.



Gail was a medical biller for many years at Hillcrest Hospital. She also was a bartender at the Pittsfield VFW. Gail enjoyed camping, knitting, sewing and doing crafts. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.



She leaves behind her husband, Anthony Viera of Dalton; daughter Candace Puia and her husband William; her three grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexandra and Brady of Pittsfield; sisters Joanne Kickery of Pittsfield and Joyce Wasnewsky of Lanesborough; brothers Richard Goddeau of Attleboro and James Goddeau of Pittsfield; her mother, Lois Keefe Goddeau of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews.



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Gail Frances Viera will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 9:15 a.m. from Dery Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Church, celebrated by Rev. David E. Aufiero, pastor. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Cemetery.



Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
