Anna M. Walker, 95, formerly of Berkshire Town Apartments, 176 Columbus Ave., died Friday at Providence Care Center of Lenox.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 16, 1906, daughter of the late Isaac and Emma Winnard Petell, she attended local schools. She had resided in Woonsocket, R.I., before moving to Pittsfield.
A homemaker, Mrs. Walker was employed by General Electric Co., Eaton Paper Co. and Elmvale Worsted Mills prior to her marriage. She was most recently employed as a sorter at The Berkshire Eagle.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.
Her first husband, James Whittle, died in 1941.
Her husband, Jake Walker, died in 1963.
She leaves two daughters, Jane Dowicki of Lincoln, R.I., and Barbara Ann Sylvester of Hilton Head, S.C.; a brother, William Petell of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William Whittle, who died in 1962.
Funeral services for Anna M. Walker will be held Friday, Nov. 16, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, celebrated by the Rev. Earl A. Hebert, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Walker's memory may be made to Notre Dame Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
