Jean M. Kergaravat, 64

LENOX, Mass. — Jean Marie Kergaravat, 64, of Lenox died Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at her home.



She was born in Pittsfield on March 28, 1953, to the late Yves and Sophie Smith Kergaravat. She attended Lenox High School and graduated in 1971. After graduation, Jean attended North Adams State College, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in management. She was the office manager for the Law Office of Sherwood Guernsey and also worked as a Machinist at Clark Aiken Co.



Ms. Kergaravat was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church. She was most passionate about Theological Studies, Sheppard's Chapel, and helping people in need. She enjoyed reading, feeding her chickadees and watching them from her window, and playing scrabble on the computer. She was a volunteer for the local food pantry and Literacy Network.



Jean is survived by her son, Anthony J. Kergaravat of Cohoes, N.Y.; her sister, Mary Ann Ploss of Chatham, N.Y.; her brother, Peter John Kergaravat and his wife Diane of Great Barrington, Mass.; and her nephews and niece, Robert Ploss and Bob, Al, Nina, and Peter Kergaravat Jr.



Funeral notice: The funeral of Ms. Jean Marie Kergaravat of Lenox will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. from the Roche Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor John J. Bonzagni, Pastor of St. Ann's.  



Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the local food pantry of your choice.
