Nellie V. Carlon, 90, of 136 Broadview Terrace, died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 22, 1911, daughter of Stanislaw and Bronislawa Kieca Karalun, she attended the Pittsfield public schools.
She worked as an assembler in the Load Ratio Department of the GE Transformer Division for 32 years, retiring in 1976.
Miss Carlon was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs. She was also a longtime member of Berkshire Hills Country Club. She enjoyed golf, painting, drawing and crafts.
Miss Carlon is survived by two brothers, Joseph D. Karalun and Steven R. Carlon Sr., both of Pittsfield.
Funeral services for Miss Carlon will be held Friday, Nov. 9, at 10:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Eugeniusz Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Miss Carlon may be made to Holy Family Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
