Pilune BozBeckian, 90, of 74 Welland Road, Springfield, and Lenox, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Deborah Raptopoulos of Brookline.
Born in Hartford, Conn., on April 2, 1911, daughter of Charles and Anna Hintlian Kirkie, she was a longtime Springfield resident.
She and her husband, Manuel BozBeckian, founded Nixon Co. Inc., a family owned manufacturer of school awards, 60 years ago in Springfield. She remained active in the company until her death.
Her husband died in 1988.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Jonathan BozBeckian of Springfield; another daughter, the Rev. Janice M. Touloukian of Woodbridge, Conn.; a sister, Sally Reibert of Manchester, Conn., and West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Pilune BozBeckian will be Thursday at 10 at BYRON FUNERAL HOME and 11 at St. Mark's Armenian Church, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 at the funeral home, 1858 Allen St., Springfield.
