Rosemary Testa

Rosemary Theresa Testa, 79, of 75 Curtis Terrace died Monday at home.
Born in Great Barrington on June 24, 1922, daughter of Michael J. and Anna Hartnett McHugh, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1941.
Mrs. Testa was employed by Eaton Paper Co. and New England Telephone Co. before entering Bishop Memorial School of Nursing, where she was elected class president. She graduated in 1947 and received the first Isabelle A. Jones Award.
After graduation, she was employed as assistant head nurse at Pittsfield General Hospital for several years.
Mrs. Testa and her husband, Joseph, enjoyed New England travel, their grandchildren and Pontoosuc Lake.
Joseph J. Testa, whom she married Oct. 15, 1949, at St. Charles' Church, died April 24, 2001.
She leaves a son, Joseph L. Testa of Dalton; a daughter, Susan L. Testa, at home; three grandchildren, and four nephews, whom she helped raise. She is also survived by great-nephews and great-nieces, especially Rosemary G. McHugh, born Oct. 17, 2001; cousins, and forever loyal friends. Her endearing wit will be sorely missed. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Joseph J. Testa, on April 24, 2001, and her loving brother, Cornelius M. McHugh, in 1990.
Funeral services will be Friday, The Feast of All Souls, Nov. 2, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery in Great Barrington. Calling hours at DWYER FUNERAL HOME will be tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quinn's Legacy Foundation in care of Berkshire Bank, 66 West St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
