Robert C. Dunn, 81, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Sunday at home.
Born in Norwalk, Conn., on Oct. 31, 1919, he was the son of Albert L. and Clarissa B. Reardon Dunn. He had resided in Florida since 1984, having moved there from Pittsfield.
Mr. Dunn was a veteran of World War II, serving as a chief radio operator in the Merchant Marine.
He was employed as a manager of the metalizing paper department of Kimberly Clark Corp. in Lee, from which he retired.
Mr. Dunn was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Port Orange and a past patron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 217 in Lee. He was a past master of the Evening Star Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Lee and past president of the Briarwood Guys and Dolls in Port Orange. He also was a ham radio operator with the call sign of W1KSD.
His wife, Dorothy Dunn, is deceased.
He leaves three sons, Robert Dunn Jr. of Stratford, Conn., William Dunn of West Townsend and John Townsend of Madison, Ala.; a daughter, Arline Shier of Williamstown, Vt.; a brother, Roger Dunn of Norwalk, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
