Dorothy P. Mole, 95

LENOX, Mass. — Dorothy P. Mole, 95 of Lenox, Mass., and former Pittsfield, Mass., resident, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Devonshire Estates, 329 Pittsfield Road. 



She was born in Easthampton, Mass., a daughter of the late William J. and Matilda Wilkins Gilbertson. Dorothy attended Easthampton Schools and graduated from Easthampton High School in 1940 and then attended Northampton Community College. She was employed by the General Electric Co. from 1943-1945 and then was employed by the former Berkshire Bank & Trust Co. in their computer center on the corner on Fenn & First streets for 12 years and then retired in 1980. 



She moved to Sebring, Fla., in 1982 and was a member of the Sebring Hills Association Inc. of Sebring, Fla. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Sebring, Fla., and a former communicant of Mt. Carmel Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing Bridge. 



Survivors include her husband, Michael J. Mole Sr.; they would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on July 1 of this year. She is also survived by two sons, John M. Mole Sr. (Elaine Mole-Killion) of Pittsfield and Michael J. Mole Jr. (Christie) of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Janice Crossley of Pittsfield and Judith Ann Callahan (William Ferry) of Pittsfield; one brother, Richard Gilbertson of Reseda, Calif.; seven grandchildren, John Mole Jr., Karen Scholz (Kurt), Robert Mole (Marie), Paul Callahan (Kristen Kushi), Shena Callahan (Mike J. Cachat), Michael A. Mole and Jordan Mole; and seven great-grandchildren, Julia and Emily Mole, Taylor and Jaxsyn Callahan, Olivia and Christopher Sholes, and Reilly C. Cachat. 



She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Robert Gilbertson; four sisters, Ethel Buzzee, Elizabeth Morris, Marjorie Levinger and Priscilla Diggle; one granddaughter, Holly Rhodes; two son-in-laws, Bruce R. Crossley and James E. Callahan; and one daughter-in-law, Cecelia Rath.



Funeral Notice: Services will take place Friday, May 12, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 400 West Street, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. 



Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
