Robert A. Arnold, 65, of 73 Beale Road died Friday in Ghent from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on May 29, 1936, son of William and Lillian Keeler Arnold, he graduated from Pittsfield High School.
He served in the Army for two years and in the Army Reserve for three years.
A carpenter, Mr. Arnold was a member of the Carpenters' Union and worked in Lenox, Mass., Pittsfield and Albany. In 1972, he became self-employed, retiring in 1999.
He was a communicant of St. James' Church.
He leaves his wife, the former Bridget Meehan; a son, Jack B. Arnold of New Castle, Ind.; three daughters, Bettyann Padula and Alesia Arnold, both of Chatham, and Theresa Mesick of Ghent; a brother, William Arnold of Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 from St. James' Roman Catholic Church, Chatham, N.Y., with the Rev. Gary Gelfenbien officiating. Inurnment will be from Albany Rural Chapel and Crematorium. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 7 to 9 from WENK FUNERAL HOME, Chatham. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Spencertown Fire Company in care of the funeral home, Chatham, NY 12037.
