Mary Elizabeth Janacek, 82, of Pittsfield Road died Saturday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Burgettstown, Pa., on Sept. 30, 1919, daughter of Michael and Katie Wassil Wasylo, she attended schools in Heidelberg, Pa.
Mrs. Janacek was a secretary for her husband, Stephen Janacek, at his propane gas company in Wurtsboro, N.Y., where she also resided for many years. She retired in 1986.
She and her husband, whom she married in 1962, retired to Tennessee. He died in 1991. She had lived in Lenox with her sister, Anne Hudak, for five years.
Mrs. Janacek was a communicant of St. Ann's Church.
Besides her sister, she leaves nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:15 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the St. Ann's Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
