Bertha Lamon

Bertha Lamon, 89, of South Ocean Boulevard, Jensen Beach, Fla., and 85 Clarendon St., formerly of Summer Street, Lanesboro, died Saturday evening at home in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 31, 1911, daughter of Herman and Emily Reiger Langer, she was educated there. She moved to Lanesboro in 1951 and to Florida in 1976, spending several months a year in the Berkshires.
A homemaker, she was briefly employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Mills and worked as a housekeeper for several area families before her marriage.
Mrs. Lamon was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the North Adams Odd Ladies. She enjoyed camping, fishing and playing bingo.
Her husband, Roy A. Lamon, whom she married in 1935, died Nov. 22, 1982.
She leaves a son, Roy A. Lamon, with whom she resided; two grandsons, and three step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Teresa Lamon; her grandsons, David and Paul Lamon; her step-grandchildren, Michael and Louis Bologna and Christine Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Mary Schreiber, missioner, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Lamon was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, Paul and Arthur Langer, and her sister, Minna Luscier.
