PITTSFIELD -- Margaret Mary "Peggie" Valentine, 55, of Rose Manor Apartments, 193 Elberon Ave., died Monday.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 26, 1945, daughter of William and Margaret Ray Girard, she attended local schools.
Ms. Valentine was employed by General Electric Co. in her earlier years and later was a self-employed dog groomer. She was most recently employed as a bartender at Charlie's Tyler Restaurant for five years, retiring in 1996 due to ill health.
She enjoyed crafts, computers, crocheting and animals.
She leaves a daughter, Lorrie A. Martin of North Adams; two sons, Michael J. Wise of Pittsfield and William H. Cummings of Lanesboro; a brother, William Girard of Lanesboro; four sisters, Lena Bouchard of Lanesboro, Linda Thomas of Pittsfield, Diane Farina of Connecticut and Barbara Valentine of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Ms. Valentine will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield 01201.
