Marilyn E. Langlois, 82

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Marilyn Elizabeth Langlois, 82, of Columbus Avenue, BerkshireTown Apartments, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.



She was born in Pittsfield on December 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Helen E. Dapper Drake. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.



Primarily a homemaker, Marilyn raised her eight children as well as several other jobs. In her younger years, she had worked for several years at General Electric; she had also worked at Sears. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.. She had also been employed as a "Nanny" for Jennifer and Joseph Hashim.



She enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors, pool, pitch, arts and crafts, candlepin bowling, and spending time with her family. What she enjoyed the most was "being a Mom, Gramma, and Gigi (great-grandmother)."



Mrs. Langlois married Richard W. Langlois on August 5, 1977; he died on September 3, 2002.



Marilyn is survived by her three daughters, Helen L. (and Gary) Perugini of Melbourne, Fla., Tonya M. Loveday and her companion Paul Saville of Pittsfield and Nancy L. Zuber and her companion Richard Marchand of Stockbridge; four sons, Ted H. (and Kim) McNeil of Pittsfield, Paul L. (and Natalie) Plouffe of Pittsfield, Herbert E. Plouffe of Pittsfield and Richard W. (and Jennifer) Langlois Jr. of Pittsfield; one brother, David N. Drake of Pittsfield; one sister, Ellen Janssen of Pittsfield; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.



She is predeceased by her daughter, Leah T. Plouffe; her three brothers, Lawrence, Edward, and Albert Drake, and her sister, Gail Ann Drake.



Funeral notice: Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.



Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. on TUESDAY at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
