PITTSFIELD -- Matthew J. Sprague, 37, of 81 Orchard St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 29, 1964, son of Edwin Sprague and Lois Riddell Sprague Dearstyne, both of Pittsfield, he attended Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton.
Mr. Sprague was a self-employed contractor, doing business as Demont Builders for 10 years.
Besides his parents, he leaves his stepfather, Robert Dearstyne of Pittsfield; two sons, Matthew J. Sprague Jr. of Peru and Bronson L. Sprague, at home; two brothers, Michael Sprague of North Port, Fla., and Russell Sprague of Pittsfield; four sisters, Michelle Fowlkes and Melissa Sumner, both of Goldsboro, S.C., Lisa Cleveland of Pikeville, N.C., and Susan Busener of Pittsfield; his maternal grandmother, Marguerite Burdick of Dalton, and his girlfriend, Natalie Ciepiela, with whom he resided and her son, Bryce Ciepiela.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet inside the gate of the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Donations are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis in care of the funeral home at 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
