Charles Cunningham, 84

PITTSFIELD -- Charles T. Cunningham, 84, of 11 Renninger Road, Metuchen, N.J., formerly of Pittsfield, died Sunday morning at home.
Born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1917, son of Thomas and Maryellen Maxwell Cunningham, he graduated from St. Joseph's High School. He also graduated from St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vt., and received his master's degree in library science from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He also did graduate work at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.
Mr. Cunningham was employed as a reference librarian in Jackson, Miss., Hartford and, most recently, in Framingham, where he worked at the public library. He retired in 1991 and moved to Metuchen in 1999 to live with his niece, Rosemary McNeice Hansen.
He was a communicant of St. Francis' Cathedral in Metuchen. He enjoyed the theater and traveled to different countries for a month each summer for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his niece, Rosemary McNeice Hansen, and her husband, Joseph Hansen; his two nephews, James Cunningham of Richmond and Richard Cunningham of York, Maine; 11 grandnieces and grandnephews, and 23 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Hinsdale.
