Rosemary Bottume, 92

PITTSFIELD, Mass.— Rosemary Teresa (Hall) Bottume, 92, of Samson Avenue died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Pittsfield on October 20, 1923, the daughter of the late Martin A. and Roseanna Kane Hall. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1941 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She continued her education at the former Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. Bottume was employed as an administrative assistant for General Electric Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the GE Pensioners. She was a communicant of St. Mark Church and the former St. Mary the Morningstar Church.
She enjoyed reading, classic movies, and skiing and roller skating in her youth. Rosemary was a great caretaker of others and her home was always the center of family activities. She will be remembered for her ability "to make others laugh."
Mrs. Bottume married Leroy C. Bottume on May 3, 1947, and they enjoyed a happy life together until his death on February 13, 1996.
Mrs. Bottume is survived by her daughter, Robin L. Love and her fiance Peter Eagan, with whom she lived; her son, Robert Bottume Sr. (June) of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Robert Bottume Jr. and his fiance Brenda Dassat, Allison Bottume and Joe Crespo, Shauna Love and Christopher Love; four great-grandchildren, Matthew McLaughlin, Kim Dorsett, Jaimie Henderson and Nadasia Crespo; and her sister, Mildred M. Kirby and her husband Richard of Lenox.
She was predeceased by her son, Ronald J. Bottume, in 1990; and her two brothers, Martin (and his wife, Irene) Hall and William Hall.
Funeral notice: Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Western Mass PT in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is handling the arrangements.
