Catherine ‘Kay’ Corsi Clark

July 30, 2016


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Catherine Mae "Kay" Corsi Clark of Melbourne Place and formerly of North Adams, Mass., died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at her home.  



Born in North Adams on April 25, a daughter of David and Elizabeth Thompson Hyndman. She attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School.



Kay was last employed as a certified nursing assistant at North Adams Regional Hospital. Much of her life was spent caring for and helping others, and for many years after her retirement, she worked as a caregiver in people's homes. In her younger years, she worked at Neville's Donuts.



She was a member of the First Congregational Church of North Adams for 73 years. Kay was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. An active member in the community, she had been a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society and was the recipient of the Neighborhood Peacemaker Award. Kay enjoyed bike riding and picking berries, which she delivered to all of her neighbors. 



She was the widow of George E. Clark, who died on Oct. 15, 1998.



Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Corsi Lipa and her husband John of Madeira Beach, Fla., and North Adams; Kathleen Denault and her husband Edward of Clarksburg, and Heather Lemoine and her husband Michael of Adams; five grandchildren, Joel Denault of North Adams, Darcie Martin and her husband Scott of Melrose, Nathan Lemoine of Holyoke, Brittney Cappiello and her husband Tim of Adams and Bethenny Kourt and her husband Andrew of Glenmont, N.Y.; six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Chase, Ian, Maryn, Ava and Eli; two sisters, Isabel Hyndman and Evelyn Hyndman of North Adams; one brother, David "Mickey" Hyndman of Adams; two sisters-in-law, Harriet Hyndman Clark and Betty Clark; a brother-in-law, William Clark; and nieces and nephews.  



Two sisters and one brother are deceased, including Hazel Johnson, Jane Martinsen and James Hyndman.



Kay's family would like to thank the caregivers at Berkshire Medical Center 2East, the aides and nurses at Melbourne Place, her private duty caregivers and everyone at HospiceCare in the Berkshires for all of their support.



FUNERAL NOTICE — A Memorial Service for Kay Clark will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church of North Adams. Private burial will be in Southview Cemetery.



A calling hour will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church in honor of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
