PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Shirley Chapin Guidetti, 90, formerly of Elm Street, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility. 

She was born on August 5, 1925, in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth Tighe Chapin Jr. She was educated in Springfield schools and was a 1944 graduate of Commerce High School. 

Mrs. Guidetti had been employed as a legal secretary for Attorney John C. Donna for many years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of South Congregational Church and the Greylock Federal Seniors. 

Shirley married Richard W. Guidetti in Springfield on March 27, 1951; he died on January 2, 1999. 

Mrs. Guidetti is survived by her three sons: Richard C. (and Darline) Guidetti of Houston, Texes; Robert H. (and Deborah) Guidetti of Lafayette, Colo., and James W. (and Shona) Guidetti of Pittsfield; one daughter, Joann (and Richard) Bartle of Missouri City, Texas; and four granddaughters: Sarah Guidetti, Erin Bartle, Rachel Guidetti and Brittany Guidetti. 

She was predeceased by one sister and one brother.

Funeral notice: There will be no calling hours and burial will be at a later date. The Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, is in charge of arrangements.
