PITTSFIELD -- Leah Agnes Bordeau, 95, of 188 Brown St. died yesterday morning at home.
Born in Bennington, Vt., on Nov. 8, 1905, daughter of George and Grace Couture Pellerin, she attended French parochial schools in Bennington. She had resided on Brown Street for 61 years.
Primarily a homemaker, she was employed at one time by the former Tillotson's mill and at GE during World War II. In later years, she was a receptionist in the beauty salon at the former England Brothers department store.
Mrs. Bordeau was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a former member of its Rosary Society. She enjoyed her family.
Her husband, Charles M. Bordeau, whom she married April 5, 1926, died March 8, 1983.
She leaves two sons, Charles R. Bordeau and Dr. Edward J. Bordeau, both of Pittsfield; a daughter, Rosemary Schmidt of Pittsfield; two sisters, Diana Chojnowski of Pittsfield and Rita Pettebone of Southboro; a brother, Raymond Pellerin of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Leah Agnes Bordeau, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, will be held Monday, Oct. 15, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at St. Mary's Church by the Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
