PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Roger L. Cole of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Munroe Regional Hospital after a short illness.

Roger was born in Pittsfield on January 11, 1937, son of Ernest and Hilda Cole of Dalton.

He is predeceased by his former wife, Katharine Hinckley Cole, whom he married on Feb. 15, 1958; their son Jeffrey E. Cole; and his brother Leroy Cole.

He was a machinist by trade. His career path took him from Clark Aiken in Lee to Pierce Machine in Dalton, from where he retired in 1999.

Roger loved to fish, hunt and camp with friends. Roger was always up for a good joke, cup a coffee, and card game. He loved the Dallas Cowboys.

He leaves his wife, Mary A. Cole of Ocala, Fla., whom he married on Jan. 4, 2003; his sister Barbara Cole of Hillcrest Commons; and his daughter Tammy, son-in-law David Seaman and his grandson Cole of Lanesborough.

Funeral notice: There will be a celebration of life to honor Roger at Evangelical Free Church on Cheshire Road in Pittsfield on Sunday, June 5, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
