PITTSFIELD -- Alice Mabel Wanamaker, 82, of 130 Blythewood Drive died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Hartford, Conn., on Oct. 27, 1918, daughter of Cyril G. and Mabel S. Conell Brodrib, she attended Connecticut schools. She had resided in Pittsfield for 43 years.
Mrs. Wanamaker was a homemaker.
She was a founding member of Grace Church Congregational and a member of its Bible study program. She was formerly active in the Power Squadron Club of Pittsfield and enjoyed gardening, cooking, swimming and traveling.
Her husband, Robert L. Wanamaker, whom she married in 1942, died July 27, 1988.
She leaves a daughter, Cynthia R. Ehardt of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Robert L. Wanamaker of Ballston Lake, N.Y., Paul N. Wanamaker of Norton and William J. Wanamaker of Pittsfield; two sisters, Jane Ostrander of Westbrook, Conn., and Phyllis Sheldon of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Alyce M. Wanamaker, 82, who died Oct. 6, 2001, will be Wednesday at 11 at Grace Church Congregational on Williams Street in Pittsfield, with the Rev. Thomas Bridgman, pastor, and Paul N. Wanamaker, Mrs. Wanamaker's son, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, will be today from 5 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Church Congregational in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Wannamaker is survived by her eight adored grandchildren, Abigail Ordorica, Jeremy, Erin and Katherine Wanamaker, Allyson Ehardt, and Amy, Kimberly and William Wanamaker; and by her cherished great-granddaughter, Audrey Wanamaker. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Weed of Denver.
