DALTON -- Margaret H. Pitcher, 83, of Calkinstown Road, Sharon, Conn., mother of Jo A. Danforth of Dalton, died Friday at Geer Nursing and Rehab Center in North Canaan, Conn.
Born in Sharon on March 30, 1918, daughter of John and Julia Murphy Humeston, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Sharon High School.
Mrs. Pitcher was employed as a saleswoman for Community Serice for more than 25 years.
Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Mary P. Lamb of Sharon; a brother, Donald Humeston of Sharon; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Margaret H. Pitcher will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. at First Church of Christ Congregational in Sharon. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Sharon. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 at KENNY FUNERAL HOME, 41 Main St., Sharon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Volunteer Ambulance, Sharon, CT 06069, or to the donor's choice. She also leaves nine grandchildren: William, Charles and John Danforth, Eileen Rattigan, Karen Carlson, and Donald, Michael, Robert and Joseph Lamb. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Denise Lavigne.
