PITTSFIELD -- Antonetta Meyerhoff, 85, of 114 Middle Loop Road, Staten Island, N.Y., a former resident of Dewey Avenue, died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 28, 1916, daughter of Giuseppe and Rosina Occhione Frieri, she attended local schools. She had resided on Long Island and in the New York area since 1945.
A homemaker, Mrs. Meyerhoff had been employed at one time by General Electric Co. and by the former Pajama Shop. She also worked at the former Pittsfield Novelty Shop on Columbus Avenue.
A former member of Christian Assembly Church, she served as its first Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting.
Her husband, Robert Meyerhoff Sr., whom she married April 1, 1945, in South Congregational Church in Pittsfield, died in September 1992.
She leaves a son, Robert Meyerhoff Jr. of Staten Island; two daughters, Julie Gian of Dalton and Ruth Keschinger of Richmond Hill, N.Y.; a brother, Ralph Frieri of Adams; three sisters, Helen Stroup and Mary Jaworski, both of Pittsfield, and Julia Mercaldo of Farmington Hills, Mich.; four grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Antonetta Frieri Meyerhoff, 85, who died Oct. 6, 2001, will be Tuesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, followed by services at 10 at Christian Assembly Church on Williams Street in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Emilio Landy, pastor of Colonie Christian Life Center in Colonie, N.Y. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Colonie Christian Life Center in care of the funeral home.
