PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Jennie L. Luz, 88, of Pittsfield died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Rome, N.Y., on Dec. 12, 1927, a daughter of Samuel and Mary Freone Frangipane, she moved to Pittsfield as a child and attended Pittsfield schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Luz had been employed at the former Elmvale Worsted Co. and Berkshire Coat Factory. She enjoyed cooking, word puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church in Dalton. Her first husband, Gerard T. Bonin, whom she married on Oct.23, 1954, died on Aug. 28, 1972. Her husband, John C. Luz Jr., whom she married on July 23, 1977, died on Sept. 11, 2001. She leaves her son, Thomas G. Bonin and his wife, Susan, of Pittsfield; her daughter, Karen A. Kolis of Pittsfield; her stepdaughter, Deborah Aines and her husband, David, of New Ipswich, N.H.; three grandchildren, Kristen Slater and her husband, David, Ashley and Andrew Bonin, all of Pittsfield; a great-grandson, Cameron Slater, and two stepgrandchildren, Jason Aines and Jacqueline Anderson, and four stepgreat-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph R. and Salvatore V. Frangipane. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Luz will take place Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 9 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
