Charles W. Fertek

Charles Wladyshaw Fertek, 81, of 47 McAlister St. died yesterday morning at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on March 24, 1920, son of Stanislaw and Mary Glazewski Fertek, he attended local schools.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Fertek was employed as a deliveryman for the former Country Club Beverage Co. and also worked in construction for Teamsters Local 404. He also did painting and roofing. He most recently was employed by St. Joseph's Cemetery, retiring in 1969.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of Polish Falcons.
He leaves two brothers, Walter Fertek and Stanley Fertek, both of Pittsfield, and a sister, Stella Fertek of Pittsfield.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 4, at 8:15 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Eugene A. Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. If friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to Holy Family Church in care of the funeral home.
