John Michael Hamilton, 38, of 291 First St. died Saturday afternoon at home after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on July 5, 1963, son of Paul and Phyllis Green Hamilton, he attended local schools.
Mr. Hamilton was employed as a chef for several local restaurants.
A member of the National Rifle Association, he enjoyed sports, music, cooking, fishing and animals.
Besides his parents, of Pittsfield, he leaves his wife, the former Hallie E. Agar, whom he married Feb. 14, 2001; five brothers, Doug P. Hamilton, Rick A. Hamilton, Paul S. Hamilton, Bruce A. Hamilton, and Kevin J. Hamilton, all of Pittsfield, and five sisters, Rose Zimmerman, Dot E. Hamilton, Christine J. Henderek, Teresa G. Pittman, and LouAnn Clapper, all of Pittsfield.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 2 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hallie Hamilton in care of the funeral home.
