Mary Ellen Dunham

Mary Ellen "Bee" Dunham, 66, of 46 Cleveland Road died Friday at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.

Born in Pittsfield on May 22, 1935, daughter of F. Emmett and Helen Tracy Dwyer, she graduated from St. Joseph's Central High School.

She was employed as a Charles of the Ritz representative at the former England Brothers department store. She later managed Shea's Florist in Dalton and then assisted her husband, Richard E. Dunham, in the management of Dick's Pools of Dalton until retiring after 23 years.

She was a member of the Wahconah and Pontoosuc country clubs, the Pittsfield Women's Club and the Dalton Community Recreation Association. She enjoyed swimming and playing bridge and golf.

She and her husband were maried on Sept. 6, 1958, in St. Charles' Church in Pittsfield. After their marriage, they lived on Lover's Lane in New Lebanon, N.Y., for five years before moving to Dalton.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Marylee Boyne of Escondido, Calif., and Colleen F. McCasland of Dalton; two sisters, Elizabeth Kasuba and Margaret Mary McKeever, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert E. Dwyer Sr. of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Helen Dwyer Callahan, in 1969.

The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 8 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Agnes' Church celebrated by the Rev. John Koonz. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to St. Agnes' Church in Dalton, both in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
