Alfred L. Goodrich, 88, of 139 Newell St. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 9, 1912, son of Levi J. and Pauline Hart Goodrich, he attended local schools.
Mr. Goodrich was employed by GE in Pittsfield for 37 years, retiring as a shear operator.
He was a communicant of All Souls' Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. A hunter, fisherman and skier, he also enjoyed gardening, dancing, traveling and model trains.
He and his wife, the former Mary Ann Quaglietti, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary May 2.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert A. Goodrich of Broadalbin, N.Y., and a granddaughter.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 11 at All Souls' Church by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the All Souls' Church Memorial Fund in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
