Raymond Gingras

Raymond Francis Gingras, 70, of 108 Blythewood Drive died Wednesday morning at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 30, 1930, son of Armand A. and Helen Dupont Gingras, he was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.
He served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Gingras was a self-employed mechanic and owned and operated Gingras Equipment Co. for several years. He also had been employed by Chris Johnson Blythewood Farms and Goyette Brothers, and was service manager at Berkshire Hardware. He was most recently employed by Carr Hardware.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.
His first wife, the former Louise Menard, whom he married in 1954, died in 1972.
He leaves his wife, the former Sylvia Dery, whom he married March 8, 1975; a daughter, Renee T. Terselic of Gaithersburg, Md.; two sons, Richard E. Gingras of Pittsfield and Philip J. Gingras of Windsor; three brothers, Donald Gingras of Milwaukee, Lawrence Gingras of Dalton and Joseph Gingras of Pittsfield; a sister, Elaine Bartlett of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Gingras will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 8:45 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 at Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Earl A. Hebert, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home today, Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, contributions may be made to the UMass Memorial Foundation, Biotech 4, for research in memory of Raymond F. Gingras, in care of the funeral home. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Gingras.
