PITTSFIELD, Mass. — ArtWeek Berkshires, a county-wide collaboration, will take place May 17-27.

The ArtWeek committee posted its call for artists.  The non-juried event is free to all Berkshire County individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in showcasing creative work. Submissions from actors, cartoonists, crafters, dancers, designers, filmmakers, illustrators, mimes, multimedia artists, musicians, performance artists, poets, puppeteers, theater artists, visual artists, writers – and more – are welcome. 

The event will feature open studios, gallery talks, theater, performances, workshops, and more interactive experiences.

Barrington Stage To Hold Auditions for Local Teens

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Barrington Stage Company will hold auditions for local teens ages 13-19 for The Virginia and Harvey Kimmel Arts Education Fund's 2024 Devised Theatre Ensemble.   Auditions are March 23 at Barrington Stage's Wolfson Center, 122 North Street, from 10am-2pm. The day will start with a group warmup and audition, followed by individual auditions. Those auditioning should prepare a 16-bar cut from the musical theatre cannon. An accompanist is provided. Dewey Hall's 3rd Annual Sourdough Bread Contest

SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Dewey Hall will hold its third annual sourdough bread-baking competition on Friday, March 15   Bakers will enter two full-size loaves of bread, one for tasting/judging and one to be raffled off. Daniel Manacher Prize for Young Artists Call for Art and Judge Announced

SANDISFIELD, Mass. — The Sandisfield Arts Center announced the 3rd annual Daniel Manacher Prize for Young Artists.    The Call for Art is open through April 7, 2024. Up to three artists will be selected as finalists, each receiving $400 to support their art practice. Winners will be notified no later than June 1, 2024. An exhibition of the finalist's work will be held in the fall at the Sandisfield Arts Center.   The contest will be judged by Josephine Halvorson, Professor of Art and Chair of Graduate Studies in Painting at Boston University. 'Material Record' Gallery Opening at Bard College

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — "Material Record," Jamie Goldenberg's exhibition at the Daniel Arts Center at Bard College at Simon's Rock, opens on March 8 at 5:00 p.m. with a collaborative weaving project and opening reception.    The artist will briefly teach the principles of weaving and ask visitors to weave on her loom using yarns from her studio that she dyed over the past eight years. The interactive weaving will be available for the duration of the show.    The final community-woven piece will be displayed at the closing event, which will take place on April 17 at 6:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theater at the Daniel Arts Center.
